The first underwater museum in Greece

The first underwater museum in Greece

The first underwater museum in Greece, labelled the “Parthenon of shipwrecks”, has opened its underwater gates in 2020 in Alonissos island in the western Aegean. Now it’s the oldest visitable marine archeological site, as it includes a famous shipwreck of the 5th century.
The underwater museum will be available for amateur divers and scuba divers who will be able to admire the famous shipwreck of amphorae, dating back to the 5th century BC, but the fascinating sea life as well. Divers and sea adventurers from all around the world are welcomed to visit this new underwater attraction and to explore Greece like few people have. This new Greek museum will soon become a must see underwater museum to visit alongside the underwater museum in Cancun (MUSA) and one of the most famous museums in generals.

A cruise/ trip full of local products from Crete, Greece

A cruise/ trip full of local products from Crete, Greece

Crete is a beautiful island located in Greece known for its history, traditions and food. As the largest Greek island, Crete is one of the most popular travel destinations and even though most tourists prefer Heraklion and Chania, there are so many other places to visit.

Number one reason to visit Crete is its history ( The Minoans created their civilisation in Crete during the Bronze Age. Knossos, the ancient city, is considered to be the Europe’s oldest city ) but its gastronomy makes travellers love her even more. The Cretan land is so fertile and local products like olive oil, cheeses, honey and a great variety of fruits and vegetables are the base of the Cretan diet. Meals are always accompanied of Cretan wines or local alcoholic drinks like raki and tsikoudia.

Sometimes, there is a debate: Santorini vs Crete. The answer is both. Even if you have a tight deadline, you still don’t have to choose between those two must see islands. The last couple of years it is common to rent a yacht or a rib from Santorini and have a day cruise to Crete or the opposite. Contact us if you are interested.

Each Greek island and city has a gastronomic identity. Gastronomy is the relationship between food and culture and Greek food plays an important role in the lives of the locals. That’s why we always encourage our clients to try local products and traditional Greek dishes. If you want to learn more about a cruise based in Gastronomy, click here.
